It is curious how despite the fact that AMD has already presented three products with its flagship GPU for laptops and desktops with its Navi 23 chip, it now rectifies for desktop and specifies a feature that seemed clear: the ROPs. What does this imply? Well, not only will the performance be better than expected, but neither the efficiency nor the consumption nor the frequency will be altered.
Up to 2.9 GHz, with 100 watts of TDP?
The first data taken from the mathematical calculations knowing the shaders and the supposed exorbitant frequency show a performance in FP32 of no less than 10 TFLOPS. And it is that 64 ROPs They do not seem to affect the frequency that this Navi 23 chip is capable of reaching, so again the figure of up to 2.9 GHz in Boost mode for this RX 6600 XT, the highest frequency ever recorded on a stock GPU.
What about actual and non-theoretical performance? Well, little is known, since AMD is being really hermetic with this, but it is estimated that it is very tight compared to the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, therefore including 64 ROPS instead of 32 and raising the frequencies to the limit of the efficiency. There is less than a month left for us to get out of doubt, so we will be attentive to the most anticipated GPU within the AMD RX 6000 series for gaming. Will it meet expectations?
